Adding a Contact Form to Your Website

For privacy reasons, you may not want to include your address or phone number on your resume website, as once published, this information is accessible to anyone in the world. You should, however, include your geographic area, and any areas you would be willing to relocate to. Your website will be world accessible, so if you do not plan on relocating to Australia, there is no point in a hiring manager in Australia looking at your resume.

Of course, you do need a way for people to contact you if they would like more information or maybe to call you in for an interview, after having reviewed your online resume. To do this you can add a contact form to your website. Visitors can fill out the form, which will result in an email being sent to the email address that you have entered when creating the form, while protecting your private information.

Insert ModuleTo add a contact form, log in to your website editor, and select the page to edit (or add a new Contact page if you have not already done so. Enter any introductory text you would like to have, and then position your mouse cursor in the content area of the page where you would like the contact form to appear. Click on the "Insert Module" button on the Editor Toolbar.

This will open the Insert Module window, as shown below. Select "Email Contact Form" and click on the "Next" button.

Insert Contact Form

On the next screen, you will be asked to enter your email address, as shown below. This is the email address that all forms filled out on the site will be delivered to. The first 3 options: Ask for email address, Ask for subject, and Ask for comment, are required, and you cannot modify these. Ask for first name, and Ask for last name are optional, if desired you can deselect these - but it is not recommended. It is a good idea to get the name of the person who sends you the email, so that you can refer to them by name when you reply to them. Click on the "Insert Form" button to insert the form into your page.

You will then see the resulting form in your page, as shown below. You can select the text in the form and format it using the Editor Toolbar, so that it matches the style of the rest of your site.

When you are happy with your form, click on the Save button in the left panel of the Editor, to save your work and publish it to your website.

It is a good idea to test out your form, by browsing to your resume website and filling out the form. You should then receive an email at the email address that you entered when you created the form.
